I've been working really hard to log in and catalog thousands of cards and would like to sell my dupicates to creat some more room for cards I'm still going thru. Can anyone give me some advice of how best to market mostly common and some stars on the net and where I may have the best chance of getting some action on my cards. I have set up on Naxcom but I'm finding it hard to compete price wise with big dealers who have so many cards and can sell them for ridicolously low prices. I'm not trying to make a large profit but at the same time I would like to receive a fair value or at least something close.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Below is a link (I think lol) to what I have listed thus far.

I've updated your link/image so that they work now. wink.gif

Also, you should edit your profile and add your NAXCOM ID there so that it will show up when you post. wink.gif

In terms of other places to sell, I'd suggest taking a look at Sportlots.com.

wow .. 319 pages of cards .. are they all with scans ? how long did it take to enter/scan and have you had any interested buyers yet - especially for the commons

just curious ..

Haven't scanned hardly any of them. Does this help them sell better? Personally most of the things I buy there don't have an actual scan and I rely on the grading system and rules they have in place. And fortunately I have had very few condition issues.

I've even tried to throw together and few lots but have mainly been concentrating on loading as much as I can on there from exports in my software that I use. I've actually been thinking of combining a bunch of the commons and trying to sell them on ebay or somewhere else. I actually had 2 different people buy 1 .10 common each (which cost them close to $2 with shipping and other costs) and I made a penny apiece on the transactions. This is one reason I'm looking for other ways to assemble and sell the so I can make something close to what they are worth.

Thanks for the post.

Scans never hurt, but it's obviously a value vs. effort decision. I wouldn't scan many $1-$1.50 cards. wink.gif

You could try the approach of player or team lots. For example, I'd be interested in any lots of Pirates, Steelers or Kenyon Martin.

I'm using The Card Collector 7.0 Seems to be a pretty decent program, have to keep tabs on some of the valuations they have in there but pretty fair for the most part. I have also found some situations with the wrong players name being listed in some of the files especially with non baseball cards.

As far as team sets go, what sells best? Say for example putting together a team by year and having like 20 or so cards, or offering up say a 100 card lot of different make and years.

I prefer the 2nd approach where you just sell 100, 250, 500, etc. counts of any cards from that player or team.

You have to realize there are not that many people who want one card because of the postage. Player lots would be your best bet, then teams. One thing I have to tell you if you don't already know. You say you want a fair deal? Good luck there when dealing with just base cards. Most people know they aren't worth much and don't want to give much. But make the lots appealing which is to say try not to put 10 cards (same card) in the lot.

you can try selling on those sites. eBay is always the best one though(imho). You`ll get the most surfers there. Not sure what the best way is to get the most for your cards. I`m still trying to figure out how I`m gonna do that too. biggrin.gif

I think 100,200 card player lots is the best thing. unfinished sets is another. I see they sell ok and is a good way to get rid of some commons. Complete base sets sell well too.

Leaving hobby for awhile. Entire football card collection being listed on eBay. Check often. Thanks.
