Hey, just looking at who is being signed. Is it me or was the lockout a total waste?? Sergei Zubov was resigned by the Dallas Stars for $12 Million over 3 years??? He scored 7 goals in the last season he played. I thought the owners issue was midrange players making too much money and the lockout was an attempt to bring salaries back in line. I like Zubov and I think he is an OK defenseman, but should he really be making $4 million a year based on his goal scoring production? Where does that put a superstar who scores 35 goals a year? are they worth $20 million a year? Where does that leave Mike Modano??

I just am wondering if anyone else is looking at this as insane. I love the sport but this is where it was failing before the new CBA.

Zubov is no slouch, How about Barry foote coming out of retirement to play hockey. Man I thought I saw the last of him with the Cubs.. but...

Oh... Adam Foote ...NEVERMIND...
(Think Emily Lutella) LOL

Adam Foote signed with Columbus and Derian hatcher signed soemwhere I heard.

The Madness will continue until teams hit the cap ceiling, then they will be left with rooks... The Blues are in big trouble cause they kept Tchakuk and Weight and they still dont have pronger signed. But they did sign three Goalies including La-lemon-lime...I am waiting for them to offer Osgood a contract...LOL

Maybe Kitchen (the blues coach can lace up on Defense)

A salary cap doesn't protect teams from making bad deals with individual players. However, it does mean that the teams that make too many bad deals will find themselves settling for less-than-ideal players for some positions.

True it does not. I just can not see paying $4 million for 7 goals a year. I wish my bosses would pay me $1,000,000 a year for the 7 million reports I put out? LOL biggrin.gif blink.gif sad.gif It is never going to happen so I will type until my fingers fall off. My parents should have pushed me to play more sports.

Will the bad deals catch up or will they be able to cut those players like in the NFL? I just can not see paying $4 million for Zubov over paying for Modano? He can surely put up 7 goals in his sleep.
