There are two licensed Manufacturers, UD and Panini. There is also ITG (In the Game) for unlicensed Hockey cards. There are plenty of breaks you can watch on Blog and Youtube, be the best way to see if a certain product interests you, as like everything else it can be personal preference and why there is so many different products as we all don't like the same things.

Dwight covered who the manufacturers are, but I think the product that would be most like Press Pass in football would be In The Game (ITGs) Heroes and Prospects hockey. Similar to Press Pass it features some Legends with a bunch of prospects and current players. Also similar to Press Pass those cards are not the most collected rcs of the players so they tend to be hot until the real rcs hit. Each box usually has 1-2 Gu and 1-2 Autos depending on the year and can be found usually under $80. They also make an update set for each year which runs $30 and has either 1 or 2 hits. They put some nice gu in the product.

Other than that most other stuff is more similar to what you see in other football products like UD S1 and S2 are kind of similar to UD Football only in hockey they issue 2 series as to not miss any late year rookies.

If you are buying any product I would probably avoid this year's products until a few months from now when the recent draft prospects end up on cardboard. Right now only guys who got to play at the end of last season are shown in the rookies.

Actually all the RCs in the 12-13 product is all we get this year. RCs that premiered this year are being held over until next year.
True the H&P would be just like Press Pass as they an unlicensed product and not considered a "true RC" same as the other sports.

Huh? I thought products like S2 would include guys like Yakupov if he plays and same with some of the others? If not, they are not going to sell much products, especially the high-end stuff like Cup which is based mainly on the RCs.

2012/13 In The Game Heroes & Prospects Hockey Hobby, but I would do last years product and get more for your money, and with the season the way it started, not sure on newer RCs this year!

I Like these of 11-12.. cool.gif

2011/12 Upper Deck SP Authentic Hockey
2011/12 Panini Contenders Hockey
2011/12 Panini Rookie Anthology

Out of those 3, I would go with SP Authentic. Anthology was meh and contenders is a bunch of autos with about 2 decent stars. $80? I'd go with singles on feeBay.
My list;

12-13 Certified
11-12 Certified
11-12 Donruss Elite
11-12 Limited
11-12 Parkhurst
11-12 Ultimate, if you are willing to toss in another 5 bucks total
11-12 Spx
10-11 Luxury Suite

Of those listed above ^.... Personally would go with 10-11 Luxury Suite, 11-12 Limited or 11-12 Certified. Ultimate if you want to throw in couple extra dollars.
