I see a bunch of *hufe football card lots* for sale on Ebay. Should I spend the money on them or assume that the seller is savvy enough to comb through for RC/AU/GU and only sell commons?

^ Basically what Dwight said.

Also ALWAYS avoid folks who use stock photos for cards. Stock photos are OK for unopened CDs or DVDs but never for cards. Also pictures that show boxes and boxes of cards in a warehouse.

Also check the shipping cost to auction price carefully. Some dealers try to sucker you in with a super low opening bid and then charge $10 or more shipping (depending on the size of the "lot").

Another thing to do is to contact the seller and ask some generic questions that aren't really answered in the listing. If they don't respond or respond in a huffy type of way then avoid.

Always read and reread the listings carefully. Even then some of these sellers sneak stuff by.

I've noticed a lot of those warehouse lot listings show tons and tons of cards and start talking about having so many boxes and "unopened packs" of cards and say you'll get such and such or a "chance" for such and such and then the actually listing says they will send 100 random cards.

What I Collect
