Texas would go bonkers if Nolan Ryan and the Bushs' could pull something like this off. STL, Missouri apparently can't put enough pressure on the redbirds to seal the deal with probably the most prolific hitter (with no recorded steroid use in his resume) in modern times.

Michael Young would be a good fit for the Cardinal's infield and help groom D. Freese at 3B. The Cards could also save face with Matt Holiday by not short changing his deserved $$$ due by not asking him to take a pay cut.

Pujols in a Ron Washington lineup with Josh Hamilton would be delicious for the Lone Star State. Nolan may have to bring in some big oil money investors but IMO it would be worth it and the Rangers would likely get their 1st championship within 2-3 years guaranteed similar to the Heat and the LBJ23's Decision.

Michael Young you will be surely missed by me and many others.....

SO.....we have to wait until the end of the year to see if Albert will remain a Cardinal.

Marc, I'm not against a ten year contract, I'm just saying that I see why the Cardinals would be hesitant to sign him for that duration. I think an 8 year contract at $30 million a year with a 9 and 10 year option at $25 million would be the best deal for both ends. Pujols most definitely should be the highest paid players in baseball, but almost all players loose some of their power around age 40. I'm sure he will still be a great player, but he might be hitting 30 HR per year instead of 50+.

And as said by many of the experts, I think Pujols will be a Cardinal in 2011. There are only five or six team that can even come close to offering Pujols what he wants. The Yankees already have Teixeira and the Sox already have Youkilis and Gonzalez. That leaves the Rangers, Cubs (God, please don't do that to me!!!), and the Cardinals. So I think the Cards will most likely get him. If not, I think the Rangers would be next in line.

Bring me your Stan Musial and St. Louis Cardinals!!
