Cardinals made it to the WS. Yay me! But I think the Tigers will take them. Their pitching staff is just too strong. The Bengals are going nowhere real fast. I think the Bears are going to take it this year. I love a team that is defense-oriented. Too bad I only liked the Bengals because of the team colors. They really suck on defense.
I need a pair of game-used Ichiro gloves to complete my Ichiro collection.
I need a 2006 SPx Winning Materials Brian Urlacher to complete the Veteran set.
Looking for more Wes Swackhamer refractor/AU cards I don't have from the Topps/Bowman line.
Should be easy on the wallet.
I might opt to trade in my Wrangler for a Dodge Caliber R/T next year.
I have to get a stand for a 29g tank soon. I have too many small fish tanks.

I've created a 'core collection' - one shoebox, whatever I can fit into it. I have to consolidate in order to make things more manageable.
Baseball, Prewar: N28 Allen & Ginter King Kelly T206 Kid Elberfeld (Washington portrait, 2 cards) T206 Bill Bergen collection (9 cards) M116 Sporting Life Hugh Duffy
Baseball, Classical: 1962 Topps #1 Roger Maris 1977 Topps unopened pack (GAI 8.5) 1977 WS Game 6 AU ticket Reggie Jackson + PSA/DNA certificate
Baseball, Modern: Ichiro AU baseball + PSA/DNA certificate 2004 UD Stellar Signatures AU 2000 UD Victory (PSA 9) 2001 Fleer Tradition (PSA 9) Various milestone cards
Baseball, Modern: other Wes Swackhamer collection (13 cards, refractor/Xfractor AUs) PSA 10 RC of Albert Pujols (2001 Topps), Jason Giambi (1991 Topps Traded), Ryan Howard (2001 UD Prospects), Manny Ramirez (1992 Stadium Club, Bowman), Jim Thome (1991 Bowman), David Ortiz (1997 Fleer, SGC 98) 2006 Allen & Ginter Ryan Zimmerman AU, Jerry Bailey AU
Football: Bengals Various AU/GU cards
Basketball: Michael Jordan 1986-87 Fleer RC 2004-05 Ultimate Signatures AU
I will probably fit my entire thoroughbred tobacco card collection in one binder.

Humid today, a little cooler. Supposed to rain. Looks like I'll be cleaning up that collection.
I'll go out in a bit and look for that flatbed scanner.
My horse scratched yesterday. Race 3B (England): Antonius Pius
Work on homepage, looks too cluttered.

Okay. After all is said and done and after I get my 10+ paid-for items from eBay, I can just narrow my focus a bit more.
I'm getting a bit nervous now. A couple of card I won on the 13th and 14th arrived today. The AU baseball I won on the 9th has not arrived yet. That is to be the centerpiece of my Ichiro collection.
I'm removing cards from snaptites and screwdowns and placing them into toploaders to compact my collection. Anything condition sensitive goes into a magnetic holder. Screwdowns take up too much space. The three rare T206s and my lone N28 will stay in the bricks.
I have a lot of scanning to do. And I have to plan on mailing my TTM cards when the season is over.
Can't wait until football season starts and see how well my Bengals do. The multi-colored patch cards are awesome because the orange really contrasts with the black and white.

I can't seem to stop cold turkey. I wanted to, but then stuff that I'm looking for that never comes up on eBay finally springs up.
Another different T206 back for my Bill Bergen collection.
I think after this, I can concentrate on my Ichiro collection. Yeah, I've gone modern, but hey, why not? Everybody seems to be aiming for the big HR sluggers. The only ones I would have to contend with are Mariners fans, Ichiro collectors, and the country of Japan. But, I am working on an idea. It may cost me something. I may not even get anything in return, but I don't know if it has been tried before. I think it's worth a shot because if it works, it would have cost me a fraction of what it might have gone for on eBay. I'll update this idea in the near future in the forums.

Redid my webpage links. All the prewar is now together. I added another page: Modern-day Sluggers. It's the base RCs of today's top HR hitters.
I will probably add a Japanese section. But I need to take scans/pictures first.

A Hideki Matsui autographed baseball. It's not very easy to get one, let alone one from a reputable authenticator. I just won it on ebay, paid for it and waiting for its arrival. They don't even have Hideki's autographed baseball at the Yankees stores here in New York City because they said he refused to sign anything 'commercial'.

There is just ONE more item I want to get for my collection and it is well within my grasp. Too bad there is no BIN. That will probably be the last one for a while. My T206 Highlanders will have to wait. I can pilfer a Swackhamer card every now and then, but that would be the most of my collecting activity since he is not a "hot item" and his cards are relatively cheap.
I will soon slow down my collecting activities to a crawl. It is taking its toll on my wallet. I took a step back and I think things were made too easy because of PayPal connected to a credit card. The money I have spent in the last 17 months have gotten me quite a collection, but I still felt something was missing. Something that could have been better well-spent. A ballgame? No. Companionship? Not quite. And then there it was - a National Geographic travel catalog. I've always wanted to see the Serengeti. I've always wanted to travel to some exotic place in the Pacific. I've always wanted to take first-hand pictures of the Himalayas. Now I've decided to do those things. Within the next 10 years, that will be my goal: The Serengeti wildlife, Polynesian Islands, and the mountains of Tibet. I will sacrifice a lot, but I know it will be worth it.

Okay, I will have to step away from eBay for a while. I don't know if I have buyer's remorse or what, but I really wanted that card. It's not my white whale, but it is from a famous colletion and marked as such. I'll probably stop for now (probably until late July), unless I see a beautiful T206 Bergen slabbed.
I think I need to step away for a bit.....

Bah! Forget the Southern League cards. Too many for too much. About $100 per on average. I'll stick with background flag & steeple T206s.
