Isn't this similar to the injury that Kirby Puckett received, or was Pucketts injury / illness due to something else. I can't remember now.

I believe Pucketts illness was a genetic thing.

Looking to finish the sets listed on my site and the following:
2005 Donruss Champions GU
2003 Topps Kanebo

I require scans for any card I trade for.
Also looking for these players:
Michael Barrett
Reed Johnson
Eric Daze
John Elway (No auto or GU)
Blackhawks

I will always consider Vintage in trade from before 1975 , Any sport
DO NOT OFFER TO SELL ME CARDS
If you have less than 10 Trades you must send first unless you can show me great references
If your user name is this color I am afraid I'll have to pass on any proposed transactions at this time.

I'm a little confused as to what you want them to do Thomas. I feel pretty certain it wasn't done intentionally (a freak accident as was noted in the article.) If you're talking about the fact that pitchers pitching inside causes such a thing, then how do you get all pitchers to adjust . Seems impossible to me. I am so sorry it happened to him but I just don't feel as if the MLB could make any changes so that it never happens again. -Vickie

In 1995 Kirby suffered a broken jaw in a game and some have speculated that it may have led to the glaucoma that caused him to lose sight in his right eye. It can never be proven of course whether the jaw caused the problem but as we know, he had to leave baseball after losing site in that eye.

I collect Jeff Bagwell.

horrible..

you are probably to young to know the story of Tony Conigliaro who was hit by a pitch in the eye socket!

or herb score who caught a line drive off the bat of gil Mcdougal that ended his career

or the Cleveland Indian player in 1920 Ben Chapman who is the only player killed durign a game from a HPB!

Oh I see what you're saying now Thomas. I guess that may help but if you think about the amount of foul balls having been hit and how many have hit somebody in the eye in the ondeck circle, the odds are pretty slim. If you move it back how far do you move it? Where do you move it to? I still think it was a freaky accident that hopefully won't happen again. -Vickie

put a net around it or something so no players get hurt. It's inexpensive and is much safer than the way it is now!
