He charged 99c for shipping. That's not a lot but penny sleeves only cost one penny. It was not stated in the auction that he would ship in a PWE.

Its not hard to reuse bubble mailers, reuse old taped up written on top-loaders, and penny sleeves well there is a reason they have that name! I would leave a neutral! I hate leave neutral or bad feedback but something you just have to for people to get the point! PWE is fine to me if they charge me a buck for shipping and its a cheap couple dollar card, but at least use a old top-loader AND PENNY SLEEVE!!

But some people will never learn! rolleyes.gif

Not that I'm condoning cheap/lazy shipping, but if you get a card that isn't damaged there's really no reason to complain unless you were charged excessive shipping costs. I'd like for everyone to ship my cards to me the same way that I ship out cards, but as long as they get to me without a scratch I could care less how they're shipped. As long as you get the card in the condition that you expected to get the card in, and weren't charged excessive shipping fees, it should be a great buy/sale/trade for everyone involved.

it seems lately I have been getting a lot of autos in PWE's even though they say they are going to ship in bubblemailers. To top it off they are still charging me like $3-$4 in shipping charges! Needless to say I have been leaving several neutral to negative feedbacks (I don't like to but sometimes it can't be avoided)! Sorry I had to vent a little!!!

I would disagree from the standpoint that although one arrived safely, that does not make the pratice of not protecting the cards the proper way to mail. What about the others that don't? If you make people aware before this happens, it is better than afterwards IMO.

I think the best approach when trading/selling is to "send the way you want to receive".

Like I said, I'm not condoning this method of shipping, nor did I say it was the proper way. You've received enough packages from me to know that the cards I, myself, mail out are very well protected. All I'm saying is that if you receive a card from someone and the card isn't damaged there's no reason to complain about that particular transaction or leave a neutral/negative feedback unless you paid excessive shipping. If you're going to complain, complain about the shipping practice as a whole. Leaving a neutral or negative feedback for someone who got the card to you in the condition you were expecting it to get to you is, in my opinion, not right.

Being they charged .99 for shipping one could see that it might ship that way, irks me when they charge $2-3 and ship PWE. I'm wary if shipping cost is low and nothing specified on how it will be shipped, at that point I would ask a question as it's a pain to try and return something and if low cost item it cost's you almost as much as item cost to send back.

I just received a card from a seller on ebay with NO toploader and NO penny sleeve in a PWE. It was just inside a folded piece of paper. Luckily, there was no damage to the card. Though, I am not sure what to do with the feedback now since the card was not damaged despite the extremely poor packaging.

It really kills me when people who sponsor box breaks here on TCC do the same thing. I wont single anyone out but on two separate occasions the same sponsor shipped all of my pulls in a team bag with no top loader or penny sleeves...grrrrrrrrrrrr. The first time was shame on him, the second time was shame on me...There wont be a third. I tried to give the guy a chance after the first time because he was relatively new to box breaks but c'mon...

Yeah, it's just doodoo to get cards like this. It would just be nice if everyone shipped securely and folded the tape over so we could get the cards out and not destroy the toploaders. It's very simple and not very time consuming. I'm all for negative feedback for stupid people. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes. cool.gif

$1 for a pack of a 100, or a failed transaction (TCC) or neg feedback (eBay) and a item damaged and a full refund (paypal)? Seems like I would take option #1!

Dang, my shop (which I'm not a fan of. It's more of a movie/game store really, but they have a lot of packs and supply) charges $4 plus tax for a packs of penny sleeves. It's $5 to 25 toploaders! I should call them nickel sleeves. laugh.gif Anyway, I always try to send in penny sleeves (even though I might not by accident sometime). I just got my first pack of team bags so now I can stop using tape! For some reason, this is exciting to me. unsure.gif biggrin.gif

Let me know if you need sleeves as I could send them to you for less than that as I bought a case for my group breaks. Buy my toploaders that way also, but shipping on those might make it not much cheaper.

I put those bags between ones with the toploader hits, or sandwich that in a couple of used toploaders for my breaks (hope I explained that so it makes sense), everything goes into team bags even ones in toploaders as one never knows it it will get dropped in a puddle or what.

Thanks for offering, but I'm fine. I usually order a pack of sleeves whenever I order my boxes (which is only like three-four times per year). I do the same with the toploaders. Also, thanks for the advise on the team bags. I hope to be doing another group break in the near future, so I will use that method while packing. Thanks again.

Walmart sells penny sleeves for $0.97cents!! And they sell toploaders for like $3 bucks for 35!! So for $4 bucks you are set up for at least 10-30 transactions! As for other things as I said like 2-3 other times I think in this topic, re-use your old bubble mailers!! Its very easy! Reuse you old toploaders, team bags (doesn't matter if they seal or not) because they make tape for that! Tape is only $3 bucks at walmart and is great for re-taping those used bubble mailers!

I will write up a whole topic (with pics) or make a video on how to pack up a great package with re-used supplies and still packed 50x better than most that use new stuff!! Might be in the next day or 2 as I have about 3-4 packages going out! And PS I don't go to the post office anymore!! I use paypal shipping!! wink.gif More money and time saved! Plus if you don't have a car (I do) this is a huge one!!!!!!! wink.gif cool.gif

Also buy or trade with me once and you will see a well packaged product!! wink.gif

My Walmart does not sell toploaders and penny sleeves. That seems weird since I live 45 minutes from Walmart's headquarter, but that probably doesn't even factor into their equation when they stock the shelves. If you have a wholesale store in the area like Sams Club or Costco, you can probably find a great deal on bubble mailers there. I get a box of 25 mailers for $4.78! I don't see a need to reuse them when you can get them that cheap. If I had to buy them for $1/each at Walmart, I would probably take your advise though.

Why not re-use them? Extra trash, more junk to fill up the land fills. Same some money? Yea its only $5 bucks, but next time you wish you had $5 bucks in your pocket and you don't well? wink.gif

I cut up the bubble mailers I receive (used one) to make a pocket to put cards I'm shipping into. Kind of like double mailing it for extra protection, and those don't add much weight to package for the extra protection. I don't know about the rest of you but I have received some that look like they got ran over (stuck in their sorting machine or something). Kind of an "to each their own" as I worry about the integrity of a used mailer, and I like to prevent any problems (granted with overkill in my case wink.gif ) as when I'm receiving something I would like to get it in the same ship it was shipped in as I'm sure others would like to receive that way from me.

I totally agree, Dwight. I believe I received one of your "pockets" before. If not, then I've received one from other traders and they work well. The Post Office does not care about our items. If they get here safely is one thing, but if they don't is another and neither of those is something the Post Office is too concerned with. I'm sure if you've (everyone) been sending packages a while, then you more than likely agree. It's not about overkill, but making a reasonable attempt to protect the cards. I dislike overkill as much as inadequate protection. By looking at some of these suggestions, we can all cheaply, safely and time efficiently protect the treasures that we hold so dear. It just requires someone to want to try. That's what I think most are missing when they send incorrectly. That's why I previously stated I would leave a neutral. That's why I started the thread. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and remarks. cool.gif

QUOTE(tyrodsports @ Aug 14 2010, 06:31 PM)
It really kills me when people who sponsor box breaks here on TCC do the same thing.  I wont single anyone out but on two separate occasions the same sponsor shipped all of my pulls in a team bag with no top loader or penny sleeves...grrrrrrrrrrrr.  The first time was shame on him, the second time was shame on me...There wont be a third.  I tried to give the guy a chance after the first time because he was relatively new to box breaks but c'mon...
