QUOTE(crpalmi @ Mar 23 2010, 03:16 PM) Ok...how about... Oooohhh Carl Pickens rookies! Mike is SOOoo VERY proud of that guy and the inception of the "Picken's Clause" for all the newbies it's like a poison pill in a contract. Oh Yeah, Mike won't let them forget that troublemaker...lol

Carroll said Seahawks GM John Schneider has talked with the Broncos and Marshall's agent Kennard McGuire. Because Marshall is a restricted free agent, the Seahawks would probably have to first settle on a new contract with the receiver, and then talk compensation with the Broncos. It appears the Seahawks are not willing to sign Marshall to an offer sheet that would mean surrendering their No. 6 overall draft pick to Denver.
"A rumor spread among the NFL's top executives: Donovan McNabb to Buffalo for draft picks. Turns out that the trade rumor was false, or perhaps just not yet true. What's more, the Eagles apparently have lowered their price for either McNabb or Kolb. Once thought to be insistent on a first-round pick, the Eagles now are looking for a "fair" price - a second-round pick or a combination of high picks, a league source with knowledge of the team's thought process said.
At the NFL owners meetings Eric Mangini said the trade of Wimbley may give the Browns ammunition to swing another trade, or two, before the draft. The Browns own five of the top 85 picks -- their own in each of the first three rounds, plus New England's (via Oakland in the Wimbley trade) and the Jets' (in the Braylon Edwards trade) in the third round. The extra picks gave them the realistic option of packaging two of them to move into the second round to select a quarterback.
"The NFL draft is a month away, but Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said at the league's owners meetings that he is "confident" he'll have an opportunity to deal the No. 2 overall pick. "I feel confident that we'll have an opportunity to move back," Mayhew said. "Will that be an opportunity that we want to take advantage of? Will it be a situation where we feel we're getting appropriate value? I couldn't answer that right now."
