Collector Zone _ News and Announcements _ TCC's Fall Trade-A-Thon!
Posted by: ffman Sep 30 2010, 03:57 PM
Are you itching to trade? If so, I have good news!
For the 4 day period beginning Thursday, October 7 and ending Sunday, October 10, Trading Card Central will be hosting its Fall Trade-A-Thon!
This 4-day event will once again be a time where all Collector Zone members are encouraged to focus on trading with fellow collectors. That means it's time to refine those want lists and get your trade lists and galleries up to date! In addition, stop by the local shop and make sure you're fully stocked with shipping supplies.
On Thursday, October 7 all attention will be turned toward trades, trades, and more trades! Prizes will be given for the member who completes the most trade transactions during the event; only transactions posted during this 4-day period will qualify. In addition, 3 random members who create (and later complete) transactions during the Trade-A-Thon will take home prizes. Prizes will come from a variety of Team members, which we will try to tailor to the interests of each winner.
As always you are encouraged to buy and sell; however, trades are only eligible for prizes as this is, after all, a Trade-A-Thon.
Please remember, for your trade to qualify it must be posted during the Trade-A-Thon period and result in a successful completed transaction. Additionally, multiple trades with the same member do no count (only one trade per trading partner counts).
Who's with me? Let's make this event a successful one - a good Trade-A-Thon means that collections are growing!
Posted by: Tarasadie17 Sep 30 2010, 04:04 PM
I would just like to add a couple of things to Cody's fine post...
....#1 is that while we are not annoucing all the prizes to be won, I can guarantee there are some fantastic prizes to be won! We are going to have some happy campers!
The second item is you get credit for trading with different TCC members during the Trade-A-Thon... you do not get multiple credits for multiple transactions with the same TCC member....
....so for example, if me and the Mango man conduct three different trades from October 7th through October 10th, we would only get credit for ONE trade...
Diversify people!

It's about time....Did I mention this early this year? Yes...Thank you Cody for finally bringing this up again on Oct. 7th. If there was a Thanks button I would press it.

It is a lot easier to deal when people look at cards for what they are... cardboard... then when people look at them as $$$... it makes the process a lot quicker and fun... two great examples of traders like that are rtsjr and northicehero99, it is why they have so many trades... good stuff...

I only notched 1 deal. Overall I think the Trade A Thon was a success though. It is just frustrating when you take the time to create a topic with scans of your tradebait and a list of your specific wants only to be met by responses that say "CMB" or "Check My List". That is why I prefer to buy.

There are def some folks that open threads and look at the scans and do not read the verbage within...LOL
That being said I have been guilty once or twice of doing that myself...Although I try to not do that and read the thread...
Sometimes a person has stuff that is just so nice or that you want so bad that you ask just hoping someone finds something that peaks their interest.

Good people of TCC, we have a winner!
With 15 completed trade transactions is the only and only rtsjr!
Bob completed 17 trades, but two were with duplicate members. Regardless, his 15 is still the most completed during the Trade-A-Thon.
A total of 57 trades were posted during this period and later completed.
In the coming days I will work on the random.org winners.
