Very nice!!! Love the patches!
I think your HOF collections need psychiatric evaluation. In other words: INSANE!!!
JUST
Wow!!! This is amazing. Did you ever think about selling some of those and picking up an auto?
Either way, Great Collection!!!
small mail day:
Crazy man! What percent of his total cards do you have (if you have any idea).
Wow, what a collection! Excellent.
Labguy42 - nice to see all the Thorpes together at last! I thought you were playing scrabble with all them Lettermans.
---
Questions: What is the price range for Thorpe autos and ARE there any certified auto cards of his?
With the economy taking a dive, has the Thorpe prices fallen at all? A Lot, A Little, None, or Increased?
Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
I see you are cornering the Thorpe Market...which inserts has the highest completion percentage in your possession? 11 of 20 made, all 5 of 5 made, etc). For that matter what about GU items?
small shipment:
numbered of 99
Questions: What is the price range for Thorpe autos and ARE there any certified auto cards of his?
Price ranges really vary and I have not been able to land one yet. I have seen them sell for $1600 to $13,500 for the 2006 National Treasures card (The guy had a feature article about it, but he OVERPAID by a ton especially since there are 4 of them and I know 2 others sold in the $3000- $5000 range)
With the economy taking a dive, has the Thorpe prices fallen at all? A Lot, A Little, None, or Increased?
I think the prices have come down a bit, but not too much. I think the prices have also come down due to the fact that they keep making more and more of them, which concerns me greatly.
I see you are cornering the Thorpe Market...which inserts has the highest completion percentage in your possession? 11 of 20 made, all 5 of 5 made, etc). For that matter what about GU items?
I will NEVER be able to corner the market on the Thorpe cards. There are 2 other very large collectors out there (ebay names jimmo30 Jim Morgan and runred41 Mike Driskoll whose collections are actually better than mine. I think Mike's and mine are about the same in quantity, but Jim's is better in quality) I have only landed 3 1/1's of Thorpe and that was when Jim wasn't on ebay all the time. I Jim has pretty much every 1/1 and 1/? he likes the 1st made and has DEEP pockets and will outbid pretty much everyone. If he wants it he gets it.
Pretty much any Jim Thorpe, Red Grange, and Bronko Nagurski card that I don't have is my white whale at the time as I am sure you understand with your mindboggling Brunell collection.
Thanks for the answers - same questions for your Grange and Bronko collections too!
Super nice additions, awesome collection.

Congrats on a super awesome collection. I don't know about you but with collections like this I tend to like the ones that have uncommon poses or color schemes. Nice action figure recent addition.
Other than the obvious action figures and special stamps/envelopes is there any other Non-Card Memorabilia of Thorpe you collect? Photos, Magazine articles etc... Just curious.

I do as well.
Thanks
Amazing pickups!!
Hey bro I talked to My buddy Joey a couple weeks ago about finding a nicely priced Thorpe auto through his contact at Memory Lane (Andy M.). Well the day I asked him Andy got jumped by some guys when he was heading to do a LARGE vintage transaction. It looks to have been a set-up all the way. He had a large amount of cash taken from him and is in the hospital so it may take him some time to get on that request. I will keep you updated if I find out anything else. Nice adds by the way and sorry for the Hijack!
Some new 1st day covers I needed:

A pretty unique old glass printing plate, another leaf certified #/10 and a 2004 leaf certified #/5 that I needed:
Nice adds.
Now that printing plate is the type that I think is worth collecting, not these modern things they call printing plates just to slap a 1/1 label on it.
I agree about the printing plate. I saw it and thought it was very unique and would make a nice addition to the pc.
Thanks
Big week. Quad with Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton. 2004 Leaf #1/1

I did see that. If it was all pictures, autographs, and writings by Thorpe, it would possible be worth the asking price. Not that I could afford it, but that would be a 1 of kind collection.
