Collector Zone _ Racing _ New Press Pass Racing Product....

With 2009 Press Pass racing due to release any day now, it is time to start looking ahead to the 2009 racing products. As our volatile economy struggles to rebound from record losses collectors all across the Union are looking for a glimmer of hope, something they can believe in, a change that will lead them back to better times. Press Pass has heard their cries and is responding with a bailout package in the form of a new NASCAR trading card release: Element, the Science of NASCAR.

Element fulfills the promise of more value by delivering one Wheels Authentic Autograph and one Authentic Race-Used Memorabilia Card in every 24-pack hobby box! For starters, Element is the only place to find authentic race-used flag cards, and on top of that every authentic memorabilia card found in Element will be numbered to 99 or less. Each half-case will also include at least two multi-swatch or oversized memorabilia cards. These cards include Green-White-Checker triple-flag cards, Taking the Checkers flag/victory tire combo cards, and Big Win cards which feature an oversized victory tire from some of the biggest victories of the 2008 season!

With the already strong value Element delivers, it doesn’t stop there. Press Pass has created an exciting interactive contest where collectors guess who belongs on six Missing Element Mystery Insert cards featuring question marks and silhouettes. Mystery Insert cards can be found in hobby and retail boxes. Clues to the identity of each individual will be revealed online, and collectors who mail in the Mystery Contest card with the correct answer written on the back will receive the corresponding Missing Element insert card!

Element’s content also delivers a strong punch. The 100-card base set is loaded with cool facts that shed light on the scientific world of NASCAR. Questions like “What kind of fuel mileage do NASCAR cars get?” and “How much horsepower does a Cup car have?” will be answered in this fun and informative set.

In addition to the sport’s biggest names, Element also uncovers some up-and-coming stars who are prepared to leave their mark on the sport. Autographs from drivers like Ricky Carmichael (Motocross legend) and Austin Dillon (Richard Childress’ grandson) will be featured in the Undiscovered Elements autograph program. In NASCAR, you never know from where the next biggest star will come. We feel these select individuals have the potential to achieve superstar status, and when they do you can bet these limited autograph cards will hold some serious value.

Of course, a science-themed NASCAR trading card set wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of a true scientist. Element will include one of the most powerful and significant cut signature cards ever produced: Thomas Edison. Penned with indescribable majesty, this cut signature card is truly remarkable. A preview of this one-of-a-kind card can be found online at www.DiscoverElement.com

I'm assuming that this product will replace the Wheels High Gear product. HG usually has the flag swatches and releases around the same time this stuff is due out.

The price point appears to be around the same as Wheels High Gear, about $4-$5 per pack.
