Driver: Titleist----had the 975D since High School, just switched last week and picked up 35+ yards! Those thin faces are amazing.
Irons: Taylor Made LCG. Can't find a set I hit longer so I stick with these.
Wedges: Cleveland 588
Putter: Rosie 2 (12 years and still white hot!)
5 Wood: Taylor Made SuperSteel, This baby goes 215 and high everytime
3 Wood: Titliest PT----low trajectory, but deep.
Its funny, I practiced everyday when I was in High School/College and never got below a 4 hadi. Now I play 3-5 a month, and with the new technology, I play as well or better now.
Precept Lady Balls are what I use, people give me grief about the breast cancer logo....but I can't find a ball that goes higher and farther for my swing. The "new" balls and new drivers had made the game so much easier.
Good luck on the course fellas.
Awesome, good luck this coming season in High School, I had so much fun playing-it was the highlight of my younger days. My only tip would be to work out if you don't already. I picked up 20 yards on my irons since "trying" to work out about 3 days a week.
Try and find a Titleist Balata, or Tour Professional and switch to an old driver, and you'll see a huge difference in how you score. Like I said, I just switched from a 975D and I NEVER hit it 300, usually 250 at most in High School. Last time I played it was really hot and dry and I got 2 over 300, its crazy. You can toe it and hit it 250 now, which didn't happen unless you had 95+ MPH swing.
Oh, and try and Caddie for a pro golfer if you haven't already. I hooked up with a guy on the Canadian Tour/Nationwide Tour: Stephen Gangluff (They need volunteers at each tour stop, and you get paid) I've done 3-5 events the past 6 years and have learned so much about the game and how to score.
That would be a blast being a caddie for someone with so much talent,
i would love to learn from someone like that..
and as far as working out,
5 times a week. 2 times a day,
keeps the muscles stretched. and
of course gets your stronger
Check out Cantour.com and see if they ever come to your neck of the woods. I would highly recommend that if you have time, give it a shot at some point.
Keep doing what your doing, sub 5 in high school might get you a free education. College golf is super fun too, but more competitive.
My dad just scooped the new Ping Driver, I love how the top-line looks on that club, looks like a blade iron. Anyway-Good luck, Post some golf stuff and I'll chime in. Talk to you soon.
sweet bro,
sounds good
is my driver decent?
cleveland Launcher 400
was given to me for free, and I tend to drive the ball very Far.
Just upgraded this year from King Cobra's to Ping G10's, Driver, woods and irons, putter is Odyssey, can't member which one though
A Cleve. Launcher is a very nice driver...I think Vijay Singh used it along with other tour pros when it was Clevelands newest model a few years back. I've seen some Cleveland pros with it still in the bag. I know the fairway woods play really well too.
The old 588 Cleveland wedges are still some of the best wedges you can buy for under $75
Ummm ok lets seee...
Driver: Nike Sasquatch 9.5 Square
3Wood: Gettin Nike sasquatch
Irons: All tour edge!
Putter: Acuity or something, but I love it...
idk, but I love it,.,.,.
The "Square" version is just that...a more Square Club Head...I think most companies experimented with this a year or so ago. The rounded version is more "Traditional' in shape...like a Pear....I think both give you about the same MOI so its really just looks and what you like better.
