I think everyone goes thru that at some point in the Hobby, they either get out of it for awhile (or never come back) or they just narrow their focus a little tighter each time. It is getting quite similar to the damage to the Hobby from the overproduced 90s, as granted maybe not the same production numbers for products coming out but the sheer number of GUs and AUs for each player doesn't help the values at all. I mean a Gretzky AU or GU doesn't sell for what it used to 10 years ago, which I feel is due to the sheer number of them out there now, same can be said for Mario etc.... as the more out there the less demand for them. The exclusive bothers me too, and the blame falls on UD for letting products get stale, Panini has one for NFL now in 2016 (pretty sure they have NBA locked up too) and my guess is they will stay on their game of trying new things and keeping things fresh, not sure where that leaves Topps/Bowman except for Baseball and TV/Gaming cards. Like Shawn said too many not into it for a Hobby anymore and more folks trying to flip the cards as a business, but it gets harder to put time/money into a Hobby if the stuff is practically worthless, as getting to where you have the same odds playing lottery scratch its or going to the casino for breaking even or coming out slightly ahead buying a box of product. I don't foresee this Hobby going the way of Stamp Collecting in example, but it has the chance of it if it doesn't have new blood coming into it. We have gotten spoiled with all the "hits" in the boxes and folks wouldn't spend the same money I feel if they made it tougher odds like the 90s and went back to inserts kind of thing, as doing so could kill the Hobby also instead of keeping values up. |

QUOTE(sasports @ Aug 13 2014, 07:50 AM) We used to have a thread about this but I could find it. I am going to start this back up and I EXPECT TO SEE LOTS OF CHANGES EACH WEEK! Nothing wrong with aiming high and all but, expecting to see changes to that list with the following stats a bit of a pipe dream IMHO (I'm sure same with transactions top 50, also a bunch on CTO including the Admin).... Top 50 posters: Last time they active Banned: 2 2010- 1 2011- 1 2012- 6 2013- 9 Haven't even signed in in the last month: 30 QUOTE(artyman60 @ Aug 13 2014, 10:26 PM) Haha, crazy im even still in the top 25 after being gone for a solid 3-4 years QUOTE(bravesfan09 @ Aug 14 2014, 06:16 AM) Right dude i was #8 when i got banned 4 years ago. Yall were slackin' I'm new to a site and I read/see that I"m gonna say "I want to hang here, this place is hopping"....probably not. Let alone someone that keeps bringing up the fact that they were banned would make me wary (maybe that just me, but I doubt it). QUOTE(bravesfan09 @ Aug 14 2014, 06:18 AM) Theres 1 person on that list who i dearly miss and 1 that im glad is gone. Is that bad? Give it a rest man, let sleeping dogs lie. Yeah everyone that got banned here got banned for no reason at all and were never giving multiple chances to fly straight, let alone the CZT never did anything by a consensus vote with a majority rules policy on decision making, it was always just one power hungry Mod that made every single decision. Give me a freaking break..............Twas a thankless job as it is being a Mod. .................... Had to be said IMHO, I'll just keep my mouth shut from here on out and still be in the Top 25 for the next 5+ years. |

QUOTE(sasports @ Aug 1 2014, 11:40 AM) do you mind if I ask what a box of this costs? Might have to get one That looked like another killer box Last time I looked it was around $205-210 here in US, it is a bit more in Canada (which is where these guys are, think it was $235 or $240). But it is sold out at Panini, so in theory the price may go up for awhile as it seems to be pretty popular as they loaded the product up to get rid of Mem inventory, I"m sure their last product National Treasures will be loaded just the same, as UD has the Exclusive again next year for NHL cards. |

QUOTE(obert22 @ Jul 31 2014, 04:58 PM) I am in and I am sharing next month...promise. Also, cards from last month are ready. They go out tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Long week of work. Dwight, I had a card that I missed packaging. My apologies. I will make sure it goes in next month. It was the Black Diamond Ed Belfour four diamond AS. No worries Mark .......like you didn't get enough hits with your teams eh? j/k |

QUOTE(sasports @ Jul 31 2014, 05:02 AM) Even if its not a spectacular break, man those are some gorgeous cards Yes for sure, though over $200 a box they aughta be .....actually going to miss Panini in Hockey next year as UD has the exclusive monopoly again for NHL licensed cards. As I feel competition helps, but I can understand the other problem with the flood of products causing values to drop as hitting a big name AU not worth what it used to be. But I'm not totally convinced that UD won't increase their product line so much that it really won't be much different than having two manufacturers with next year being just one making Hockey cards (as they bringing back MVP and Ultra already announced so who knows how many product lines they will have, as they haven't said how many they allowed or how long the exclusive agreement is for, but it must be for awhile as Panini clearing out their Materials and loading up the last products (that or they have no interest at all going back into Hockey after losing their license after such a short time once the exclusive deal is over and they could have a chance at getting license again). |

2nd box, I mean it wasn't worst box ever but was for sure one of the weaker boxes of Prime I have seen opened so far for sure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceWaBzgOvPw...viwqwoK3lAJ7clAPreds patch not too bad (least part of it not all white ) , hit a Dallas card but he no longer on the Team as he got traded and all that. |

QUOTE(northicehero99 @ Jul 31 2014, 01:27 AM) Yeah when saw he was paired with a North Star I figured as much. You just had to press your luck. They suckered you with the first box. That is one of the things I really dislike is the "gamble" in each box, but that is the way the hobby is anymore. So what did you get? Nothing of note that I can recall, will post link to their video when it is up so you can see what I mean just the box universe keeping itself in check.....but yeah pretty much like playing the lottery anymore with boxes, as you either hit big or get a "meh" box or straight out feel like you got kicked in the Kahunas with your box (I get kicked a lot it seems, just my luck I guess ) |

QUOTE(northicehero99 @ Jul 30 2014, 03:25 PM) Awesome box. Wowsers go play the lottery! Nice hits. That Mario is cool and those patches were awesome, congrats! Yeah loved that Mario as pictured with a North Star...so guess you out of luck getting that one from me Bought another box online today, it was more back to the normal Dwight boxes, was pretty weak far as most Prime boxes go and was rather ugly in comparison to that box last night. |
