If you have a few minutes take a look at my auctions versus a couple of others. Other than not having a shill bidder to drive up the prices am I doing something wrong.

My Caddy auto @ $2.75 after 3 & a half days -
mine

Same card completed auction was at $30.00 after 1 day and closed over $200 -
Same card different auction

My Brown Exquisite auto @ $158 after 3 & a half days -
My auction

Same card over $500. with time to go, it's multi color jersey but over 4 times as much -
Same card another auction

Maybe I'm fretting over nothing but I just don't understand E-Bay sometimes. I may be one of those sellers we all hate because if these don't get better soon I'm canceling them. I used BIG & clear pic's and had PhotoBuckett to Host so they would show as larger and clear pics.

everyone is using a sniper site, eh randell, all bids will come in the dying seconds, and your product will go much cheaper than anticipated.

I would cancel auctions and repost with starting bid or a reserve price.

I've noticed if the same item is up twice from different sellers .. activity in the second doesn't pick up until after the first is done ..

Good luck on matching what the other guys get for these hi value cards and let us know how it turns out.

somehow methinks it may be bad timing.. football fans are gearing up for draft day and incoming rookie class...and not last years has beens laugh.gif

Right now basketball and Hockey are burning up ebay and soon baseball will be hot...

I make it a rule to never sell football after two weeks of the super Bowl ending!!!

Look my orton dual GU only bought just under $79... while SB week it would ve bought somewhere in excess of $100!!

snkpoct137,

You didn't need to do that unless your really wanting the card.

Thanks everyone else for you opinions, I'm going to let em ride till early Sunday morning which will be the last chance to end the 2 biggies if I'm not happy with them. It just gets a little frustrating when compairing auctions of the same cards with such big differences in the bidding action.

The Caddy was a "Featured Plus! Listing" which may have drawn some early bids. I'm sure yours will get bids during the final 2 days. I'll bet you have 4-5 watchers.

I'd say the amount of colors is the difference with the exquisite.

Also, your pics are "Very Nice" how did you get them like that? I understand you used photob, but what did you do to insert them?

My almost updated trade+ site. Looking for Vintage all sports, and nice pieces from teams below PM/email with any offers. Thank You. Also 1990 Topps, and 2003 old logo.
Call someone a dodee buttt in the heat of a debate, banhammer, trying with all your might to pass fakes, or what amounts to fraud..Eh, give em a break, he made a mistake??!!??

E-Bay allows you to use your own photo service all you do is put the same link you would use here for a pic into the proper area when setting up your auction, I used the same link for the gallery pic. I had tried this on some cheap auctions earlier and liked the way the pics looked better than using E-Bays pic service.

I had not noticed the other Caddy was a Featured Plus auction, would explain the early action.

thanks for the replies guys, just got to wait a few more days, I hate putting up high dollar items it's just too stressful, I have dreams (more like nightmares) of giving stuff away.

Hey we all do. I really dislike snipers for this reason, because it really takes away from it being an auction. Its a double edged sword. If you start the card higher, no one makes offers, if you start it low, you get little nibbles and then the snipers snatch it cheap in the end. An auction is supposed to be back and forth bidding, not everyone waiting for 2 seconds left and throwing a maximum. Yahoo, I think has a 5 minutes left feature, which extends the auction if someone bids in the last 5 minutes, it extended it a few more minutes, not sure if they still do that but it would be a nice feature and would goof up snipers.

Well sorry to say I cancelled the Caddy auction this morning 10 mins. before the 12 hour deadline, it was only at $47 just couldn't risk it going at anywhere near that.

The Favre has already done better than I expected so it got to stay.

I'm rolling the dice on the Ronnie Brown It's only at $250 at the moment, the other one that was up ended at over $700 but it was a 3 color which is rare for this card. It's got over 30 people watching don't know how many of those are potential bidders since I put a link up here some of those might be members wanting to watch the crash & burn, lol. It's a great buy right now if it stays at the price it's at, I may have to go out tonight because I don't want to watch it.

It's always like that. Near the end is where all the action takes place. That's the way most auctions go.

And they wouldn't go any higher if I were interested. Thanks for enlightening us as to the kind of seller you are. I'll make sure to add your name to my don't bid on list.

More than back and forth bidding, and auction is supposed to be an item that goes to the highest bidder, not something that a seller can pull any time if he doesn't like the way the bidding is going. I wish ebay would add a feature that shows how many auctions a particular seller ends early, it would keep everyone from wasting time watching auctions that are going to be ended early anyway. If you don't have the balls to run an auction the right way you shouldn't be running one.

Feel free it's your right to do that, it's also my right to pull anything i please. If you want more info I've done it twice, happy?

Thanks for making your 1st post on the boards to bash the way I choose to run MY auctions, I feel honored and thanks for enlightening us as to the kind of poster you are. If you'll give me your E-Bay name & I'll add you to my blocked list and make sure I never bid on anything you have listed. That way we won't have to cross paths again.

I know that last minute sniping has frustrated a lot of people ...

but that excitement of bidding at the end is what brings a lot of people to eBay and drives up prices. And it doesn't violate any rules ..

As for the withdrawl 12 hours before time was up. Krusin did nothing illegal or violate any rules - though it might have been frustrating for everyone who was getting ready to put in their "snipe" bids for the last 5 seconds.

I've seen a lot of cases where the seller decided not to part with the card After the auction has closed for less than they thought. Those are the people breaking the rules and everyone should work together to kick them off. Not the honest seller with cold feet who withdrew the auction within the allowable limits.
