It's hard for me. Roger was suppose to be the best of this generation, now it's the 3 Braves guys.

Bonds was suppose to be the best ever but I never believed he was clean.

A-Rod was giving me hope that we would have a clean HR Champ again but that's now gone.

Palmerio looked clean doing it and at the same time embarrassed himself and baseball on the national stage.

Sammy and BIG Mac turned Magic to Mystery

Canseco issued in the new era

Pete Rose at least got his numbers the clean way

By the way does anyone know the best 3 clean HR hitters of the past 25 years...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Right now its Griffey, F. Thomas, and Fred McGriff......weren't these the same three we wrote off when they couldn't keep up with the guys above too bad. These guys should have 4 or so more MVP awards among them.

How can you even measure Arod's impact right away? This news JUST came out. I mean maybe you can see into the future, but I sure cannot. I mean I thought he had used steroids before, but that's not to say I had any evidence. I'm sure there were a lot of others who thought the same. Arod should not even be in the current poll as the poll indicates the past tense.

Pete Rose also should not be in the poll. He deserves to be in the HOF and didn't taint his numbers in any way, at least from what we know.

I would vote for the "Steroid Era" not any of the players. Tons of players have done steroids but people only look down on the stars.

Also all steroids does is help build muscle it still takes talent to be good.

And I would bet we would take any of those players on our team clean or not.

These are good points.

Also, this is in the wrong subforum. Should be in "baseball."

I agree that it still takes talent. But McGriff is a first ballot Hofer with 3 MVP awards if you take away all the guys numbers that were dirty. To me that is what is so nasty about the Steroid era guys like Frank Robinson who should be a top 10 HR guy and guys like McGriff who would have made more money and prestige had the dirty players just declined over the years instead of getting better.

Bud Selig? WHAT?

He has been doing his job really well. He's made the MLB TONS of money, which is his primary job. I applaud him for that. Sure, he could have been more effective with this steroid mess. However, that hasn't killed MLB. Baseball is still extraordinarily popular and has grown throughout Selig's era of being commish.

I agree Rose is a HOFer as a player since he didn't bet on games until he was a manager and his numbers are clean.

Hey I love A-Rod look at all my trades on this site. He is the number one guy I collected (after Nolan) but come on there has yet to be one of these reports that have been wrong. The reason I'm saying he deserves to be on this list was he was giving baseball purest something to believe in. Now this is the second time in the past two years that something has come out with him and steroids. And it is not like he is a man of high integrity that we should give him the benefit of the doubt aka stripper-gate.

A-rods giving me no reason to believe him, he does't even deny it. He just says to ask the union (which can't say one way or another).

Thats my point, He cared more about making the league money than the integraty of game.

So are we just going to look down on the players, why not look at the people who could have done something about the problem before it became as big of an issue it is today.

See, I agree with all your reasoning given here. However, how can you accurately predict that he WILL damage baseball more than any of the players on this list? This news just came out today. Your poll is asking about "damaged." That's the PAST tense. A-rod has NOT damaged anything yet. You think one day of news can do more than the past few years of news of guys like Bonds? Come on, I know you are not that delusional.

I hated that we signed Sosa and I'm glad we didn't sign Bonds as a Rangers fan. I'm still pulling for Kinsler, Young, and Hamilton as they are at least clean as of today. Don't need that stuff on my team and I can tell you that all growing up I rooted for the following names as a kid. Now look at my list and tell me I wasn't lied to every time they stepped to the plate

Ruben Sierra - Roids
Nolan Ryan - Legend
Jose Canseco -Roids
Juan Gonzalez - Roids
Ivan Rodriguez - Roids
Raffy Palmeiro - Roids
A-Rod - Roids

Everytime I went to a game to watch a little bit of baseball history my teams best players were't even really that good besides the one pitcher on the list. You tell people that you want cheaters no matter what....but when you spent your entire life rooting for cheaters without knowing it you feel deceived and I can tell you that no you wouldn't want this mess on your team.

Sure the Yankees won all those WS rings and it was fun back then but now looking back on those rings they don't look near as impressive.

I don't but there numbers support it and so do their lack of being in any reports, books, or law suits.

But I've looked dumb before. I said that #2 on this list was Raffy just to be proved wrong the next day when it came out that he had failed a test.

It's not agaist the rules to shoot the first basemen in the leg with a 9mm either but somehow the players have never done this......

Because it's against the law.

Ankesh I understand your point, Selig is a great buisness man but look at the decision making the man has done. You cant look at the one positive and not look at the negatives that have happened under the mans eyes.

This is definitely true. He should be held at least partially responsible, you are right about that. Good point about bringing that up.
