I have no idea why it went to Charlotte after going to Cleveland.

That makes me curious to see where it will finally end up.

Based on the fact that the USPS web site hasn't updated with new information since 2/8/09, I'm just hoping the package ends up somewhere.

Bob, made a phone call to the USPS and they are trying to trace the package. It looks like it's "lost" since the 8th, so they said they would call back tomorrow and let me know what happened (if they are able to find out).

Well Bob, first I want to say that the Burkburnett Post Office has been very helpful with this. There's a very nice lady there that has been in contact with me via phone on this package. She's been calling around trying to find out what's going on (she even called East Liverpool to find out if you had a hold or forwarding on your account). I could have told her that you didn't, but she took the initiative herself to try and find those things out, which I applaud.

So, today she called to let me know that she had been checking the tracking number on a daily basis and saw that it had finally been scanned in Jamaica, NY today. She has no idea why and is trying to find that out, but did want me to know that the package had not just disappeared and that it was still out there.

So, hopefully it will make it to you soon. I just wanted to provide an update.

Thanks for the update, Jeremy. The fact that the package was actually scanned again on 3/3/09 indicates we should still have hope that this one will find it's way to Ohio.

These Pirates cards are taking one of the craziest journeys I've ever seen with a package. The package hasn't been scanned again in 4 days and that particular USPS facility in NY is one that I believe is used to send mail to APO addresses. Maybe the package is heading to Iraq at this point?

Well, it's been 7+ days since the package was last scanned. I can't wait to see where this package ends up and what it looks like!

These Pirates cards are taking one of the craziest journeys I've ever seen with a package.  The package hasn't been scanned again in 4 days and that particular USPS facility in NY is one that I believe is used to send mail to APO addresses.  Maybe the package is heading to Iraq at this point?

You know, the lady at the post office told me the same thing about that post office. But, since I mailed the packages from the post office they could cross check the DC slip with the zip code the clerk entered in when they printed postage for the package and the zip code was yours. So I know it's got the right address and right DC slip on it. Neither one of us has any idea what's going on. Not to mention that it went to Cleveland first, which is where it should have gone.

This is the text of a PM I received from Bob on March 21.

Jeremy,

I did finally receive the package from January (looks to have been on Monday based on the DC number). I still can't figure out why it took so long and went the way it did because there's no obvious markings on the package and the address is clear and correct.

I'll scan the package tomorrow and then update the transaction.

An e-mail and PM reminder to update the status of this transaction were just sent to bob_TCC.

I apologize for the delay in updating this transaction. I simply forgot to update the transaction after previously opening the package and exchanging related PMs with Jeremy. I received my card on 3/16/09 (mailed on 2/4/09).

The Pirates cards included zero cards. Ouch!

In fact, that probably explains why the package took such an odd path to get to me - despite no obvious issues related to the address and/or postage. I'm guessing the mail carriers just kept saying, "This package can't be headed to that address. He's expecting Pirates cards!"

All kidding aside, the package contained the following card from another team:

2008 Sweet Spot Signatures Hong-Chih Kuo AU numbered 098/300

Nice card coupled with strong communication and quality shipping equals a smooth and easy transaction (can't blame Jeremy for the USPS delays). Looking forward to your next group box break.
