May 2004 Collector of the Month Award
Congratulations to Ronald Kerzner of Sault Ste. Marie, MI for being named as the
May 2004 Collector of the Month!
The TCC Collector of the Month Award recognizes collectors for their contribution
to the trading card hobby and their demonstrated interest in the hobby.
Ronald has been collecting trading cards for over 20 years and has a collection
of over a couple of thousand cards. He collects trading cards for baseball,
basketball, football and hockey. However, he is most interested in hockey including
cards of players from the Central Red Army team. His interest in hockey also helps
explain his favorite athlete - Wayne Gretzky.
One of Ronald's most prized hockey cards is his 1980-81 Topps Ray Bourque (#140)
RC card.
In addition to hockey, he enjoys collecting baseball cards of Cuban players and
autographs. He also collects non-sports cards, especially Star Wars.
When asked about how he got started with collecting and why he does it, Ronald
explained, "I started collecting on my own simply because it is fun.
I get enjoyment out of this hobby and hope that others will also find the joy
of collecting."
Ronald added, "I'm proud of my collection and am excited to share part of
it with the TCC community of collectors."
The May 2004 Collector of the Month prize package included:
- an Upper Deck baseball cap
- 8 retail packs of 2004 Topps Baseball - Series 2
- Florida State Seminoles Collegiate Collection wax box
- June 2004 issue of Tuff Stuff price guide
